David Laman, Chief Executive Officer

Self-taught through personal development books, tapes, sales philosophies, people skills and management techniques, David has excelled because of a basic core belief and commitment to the philosophy of loving people and using money instead of loving money and using people.

Since the company’s 2004 creation and thirteen years’ of industry experience, David has been committed to growing the single largest, most respected, state-of-the-art Photography Company in the United States by first steadfastly encouraging the personal growth of each individual team member of the company.

Widely respected as an industry visionary, David is a big dreamer blessed with a keen understanding of the necessity of taking action on his dreams. David says “A dream without applied action is nothing more than wishful thinking!”

David’s commitment to the long term success of his business is fully supported by his lovely wife and four beautiful children to which he is devoted.



Melissa CrippenVice President, Pre-Sell Manager


Melissa Crippen, originally from Ohio, has, over the last eight years, worked her way up from an entry level, pre-sell position through every department within the company to her current position of Vice President as well as Pre-Sell Manager.

Having made a lifetime commitment to Andrae Michaels National Portrait Company, Melissa has significant experience in every department of the company but her true passion and specialty rests with the pre-sell department for which she is highly regarded as a pre-sell trainer at the Andrae Michaels National Training Academy.

Melissa has developed her considerable skills and knowledge as a direct result of diligent hard work and a burning desire to achieve extraordinary results in her career while playing a key role in the overall success of the company’s long term business objectives.



Araceli FrazierChief Creative Officer



Originally from California, Araceli, as Director of Photography, was the first employee ever hired by Andrae Michaels National Portrait Company eight years ago. Hailing originally from California, Araceli began to pursue her passion for photography in earnest by studying photography at Cal State, San Bernadino, where she also excelled in graphic design, followed immediately with comprehensive studies at The Art Institute of Colorado.

Blessed with a wonderfully magnetic, bubbly personality, Araceli is accomplished in every department of the company but is a true specialist as a photographer. In her position as Director of Photography, she has dedicated herself to the company as a whole, the team members individually and the company’s pursuit of national growth through excellence.

She was personally responsible for opening the first two fixed studios for the company which remain operational cornerstones of the company today while providing pivotal leadership leading to the rapid growth of the Mobile Photography Division.


Christine LamanExecutive Sales Specialist


christineAs Andrae Michaels National Portrait Company’s Customer Service Manager and Portrait Consultant Department Manager, Christine has been an integral part of the company for nearly six years.

Having relocated to Colorado Springs from Las Vegas, NV, Christine started her career with the company five and a half years ago in the Pre-sell Department where she excelled for a period of approximately two years.

At that time she felt that her interests were more in line with the health care industry so she decided to leave the company to attend nursing school; eventually becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant where she remained for one and half years.

As time went on, she came to the realization that she missed the high morale and satisfaction of individual achievement resulting from the personal development stressed daily as a core value at Andrae Michaels. She realized that the happiest she had ever been in her career was while she had been working as a team member for the company.

She was welcomed back to the company as the Customer Service Manager and thrived in that capacity. Eventually, her success in that department whetted her appetite for an even bigger professional challenge with still greater responsibility. She requested that she be allowed to begin working on the weekends to learn all aspects of the Portrait Consultant Department and learn she did!

She quickly became one of the most successful, consistent Portrait Consultants the company employed and, through hard work and dedication, is, today, also the Portrait Consultant Department Manager.

The leadership, support and hands-on training she provides her personnel have led to higher department performance standards than at any time in company history.

Barbara Myers, Chief Financial Officer


BarbaraBarbara Myers, our trusted and reliable CFO, has been with Andrae Michaels since December 1st, 2008.

She began her accounting experience as a part-time bookkeeper in 1970 and has had a progressive accounting career since then with additional expertise as a Human Resources Administrator and Benefits Administrator with companies such as Johnson and Johnson, General Motors and United Van Lines.

On a personal level, Barbara attended Rutgers University and Brigham Young University with degree work in religion and social work and received accolades for her work for her work with juveniles on the streets of Somerset County, New Jersey. In addition, she served as a missionary to Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Barbara is the proud mother of three wonderful daughters (and three pretty cool sons-in-law) she considers the family to be the greatest treasure in our society today and is happy to be working for a company whose industry and mission is to bring families together through the preservation of memories.
